Mandan is a city on the eastern border of Morton County and is the eighth-largest city in North Dakota. Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. Get out of town with these interesting Mandan side-trips: Enchanted Highway (in Regent), Jamestown (Frontier Village & National Buffalo Museum) and Minot (Roosevelt Park Zoo & Scandinavian Heritage Park). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at On-A-Slant Village, get a sense of history and politics at North Dakota State Capitol Building, take an in-depth tour of North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, and examine the collection at North Dakota State Railroad Museum.

For maps, where to stay, more things to do, and tourist information, read our Mandan road trip app.

In May in Mandan, expect temperatures between 66°F during the day and 42°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
