Named in honor of the U.S president who greatly admired the land, Theodore Roosevelt National Park presents the prairie in a pristine state. You feel like you're in the Wild West while driving the southern loop road. Really cool for those of us Baby Boomers who grew up watching westerns!  more »

We loved this park. Not only was it beautiful, but there were many fun trails and much wildlife. We saw buffalo, prairie dogs and wild horses. Our kids absolutely loves it. Take the side roads to off road trails, they are worth it.

Love the park. The wildlife is very active. It is very clean and easy to navigate. The trails are wonderful and allow you to feel like you were there before any development took place.

Great place to visit! The scenic sites are breathtaking. The buffalo herds were fun to see as well as the beautiful wild horses. We just visited the middle of June this year (2017). The weather was perfect.

I had the best one-day experience in a national park. Saw tons of wildlife: bison, prairie dogs, wild horses, bird life...etc. Lots of good hiking add well, and a stunning landscape. We only made it to the southern unit, but would love to go back to the northern unit someday.

Great scenery. Saw bison and tons of prairie dogs. Great trails to hike! The ticks are horrible this year so I stayed away from the grassy trails but there are some asphalt trails to hike. We came in from Medora which is a wonderful place to visit-never a dull moment!
